If you are looking for the ultimate sport fishing experience, then Giant Bluefin Tuna fishing is for you. These fish typically weigh over 700 lbs and are capable of speeds of over 40 mph.
Our Bluefin Tuna charters are on a catch and release basis, once the fish is beside the boat it is released back into the ocean. Conservation is the key to keeping this thrilling sport healthy for generations to come.
We are pleased to report that Waleaha Charters had a 100% catch rate through the 2010 charter season.
Boats
We supply all equipment necessary for your fishing adventure, including a live well to hold bait, commercial fishing rods, tackle and kite rods. We have a tuna chair, for your safety and enjoyment, mounted on the stern to help even the most inexperienced fisherman reel in one of these huge fish.
Our boat is equipped with a 400 horsepower DaeWoo engine, one of the most reliable marine engines on the market. Our boat is fully equipped with multiple VHF radios, radar, GPS, color sounder, sea chart plotter, and a state of the art Max-Sea bottom mapping system.
Don’t let being out on the ocean fool you, as you have full access to a wide range of amenities including: bathroom, microwave, table, fresh water, bunks, furnace for those chilly mornings, and 110/220 and 12 volt power outlets. Our vessel is one of the few approved by Transport Canada to carry passengers for charter. We have an inflatable life raft onboard, as well as a certified C02 suppression system should there be the unlikely event of a fire onboard. Your enjoyment and safety are our priorities.
